The record so far
Radek Brunner is a Czech road and fixed-time ultrarunner from Prague. His published results span more than a decade and include repeated national wins, international 24-hour championships, and one of the strongest records in Spartathlon history.
After Spartathlon podium finishes in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021, Brunner won the race in 2025 on his tenth start. His 21:24:35 finish was the fastest Spartathlon performance of his career.
Three weeks after that victory, Brunner covered 271.182 kilometers at the 2025 IAU 24-Hour World Championships. He placed seventh among men and established the current IAU M50 world record.
