Purpose
Our purpose is to help runners prepare for multiday ultras with practical, source-aware, safety-conscious guidance. We do not publish content only because a keyword is available; every page should help a runner make a better decision.
How We Research
- Official race and governing-body sources for rules, formats, records, and events.
- Peer-reviewed sports science and sports medicine literature for health-adjacent claims.
- Product specifications, manufacturer data, third-party tests, and runner feedback for gear content.
- Practical race systems tested against the realities of fatigue, crew access, weather, and course format.
Health and Safety Content
Training, hydration, sodium, sleep, injury, and recovery content is written conservatively. We avoid diagnosing readers, avoid universal prescriptions, and include red flags when symptoms may require race medical staff or a clinician.
Product and Affiliate Content
Gear pages are separated from educational pages and carry an affiliate disclosure. Rankings are based on suitability for ultrarunning use cases, not commission rates. See the gear review methodology for more detail.
Updates and Corrections
Pages with changing facts, including records, event dates, product specs, and prices, include update dates when possible. If you spot a factual error, email hello@multidayrunning.com with the page URL and source.
What We Avoid
- Fake certainty around medical, nutrition, or performance outcomes.
- Hidden sponsored influence.
- Changing dates just to make old content look fresh.
- Gear claims that imply hands-on testing when the evaluation was source- or spec-based.
- One-size-fits-all training prescriptions.
