The record so far
Olena Shevchenko is a Ukrainian fixed-time and road ultrarunner from Odesa. Her international career includes six IAU 24-Hour World or European Championship appearances dating back to 2015.
At the 2023 IAU 24-Hour World Championships in Taipei, Shevchenko covered 254.463 kilometers for the silver medal and a Ukrainian national record. She moved into a medal position late in the race and held second place to the finish behind Miho Nakata.
Shevchenko has remained a consistent 100-kilometer and 24-hour competitor, running 251.037 kilometers in Poland in 2024, winning Ukraine’s 100-kilometer championship in 2025, and taking the national 24-hour title in 2026.
