Miho Nakata is a Japanese ultrarunner who won the 2023 IAU 24-Hour World Championship in a then-world-record 270.363 km and the 2026 Asia–Oceania title.
Miho Nakata is a Japanese road and fixed-time ultrarunner from Chiba Prefecture. She won the 2023 IAU 24-Hour World Championship in Taipei with 270.363 km, setting the women’s world record at the time and earning the IAU’s 2023 Athlete of the Year award.
At the 2025 world championship in Albi, Nakata improved her personal best to 271.987 km and earned bronze. Sarah Webster won that race with the current world record, so Nakata’s Taipei mark is described here as a former record rather than a current one.
Nakata also competes at fixed distances and on trail. She placed fourth at the 2024 IAU 100 km World Championship in 7:25:52 and won the 2026 IAU 24-Hour Asia and Oceania Championship with 261.170 km.
