The record so far
François D'Haene is a French mountain ultrarunner whose career combines victories in major 100-mile races, long technical competitions, and supported fastest-known-time projects.
D'Haene has won UTMB four times, in 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2021. He also won La Diagonale des Fous in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2018, giving him unusual depth across two of the sport's most established mountain ultras.
His work beyond organized racing includes the first sub-three-day supported completion of the John Muir Trail in 2017, a supported Nolan's 14 mark in 2025, and a 29:46:20 supported GR20 effort in July 2026 that improved his own 2016 performance.
