The record so far
Pam Reed is an American ultrarunner whose career spans trail 100-milers, desert road racing, fixed-time events, winter ultras, and 200-mile-plus races. She became the first woman to win Badwater outright in 2002 and repeated the overall victory in 2003.
Later in 2003, Reed covered 223.634 km at the San Diego One Day race, setting a U.S. women’s 24-hour track record at the time. She extended her fixed-time range to 48 hours and six days, reaching 354.971 km at Surgères in 2004 and 788.579 km in New York in 2009.
Reed continues to race frequently. Her 2026 results include a women’s win at The Drift 100, third woman at Arrowhead 135, and a Cocodona 250 finish in 4 days, 4 hours, and 28 minutes.
