Liz Canty is an American trail ultrarunner whose results combine rugged 100-mile victories, technical 50K speed, and consistency across many of the sport’s established races.
Canty won the 2022 Cruel Jewel 105.9 Mile in 26:34:53, placing fifth overall, and the 2017 Pinhoti 100 in 22:04:09. She also won Mountain Mist four consecutive times from 2019 through 2022 and twice won the Barkley Fall Classic.
Her range includes two Western States 100 finishes, an outright six-hour win and course record at Merrill’s Mile, and 28 yards at the 2019 Big’s Backyard Ultra. The record presents Canty most clearly as a versatile trail champion rather than as part of backyard record progression.
