The record so far
Łukasz Wróbel is a Polish ultrarunner from Leszno whose rapid backyard progression produced three major victories in twelve months. He won Suffolk Backyard Ultra with 88 yards in 2024, then completed 116 yards at Legends Backyard Ultra in Belgium in 2025.
The 777.896 km Legends performance was a world record when it was set. Wróbel returned to Retie in 2026 and won again with 114 yards, while the world benchmark had moved to Phil Gore’s 119 yards.
Wróbel also has fixed-time and road-ultra range, including 205.785 km over 24 hours in 2023 and an 11:51:02 106 km performance in Taiwan. His 116-yard performance remains a former world record and the high point of his published backyard results.
