The record so far
Courtney Dauwalter is an American trail ultrarunner based in Colorado. Her 2023 season joined three of the sport’s most competitive 100-mile races: she won Western States, Hardrock, and UTMB in one summer, setting course records at the first two.
Her range extends well beyond 100 miles. Dauwalter won the 2017 Moab 240 outright in 2 days, 9 hours, 55 minutes and 13 seconds, covered 256.405 km at the 2017 Soochow 24 Hour, and won Big’s Backyard Ultra outright in 2020 with 68 yards. She has continued to win major mountain races while testing longer events, including Cocodona 250 in 2026, and took her fourth Hardrock title that July in 26:03:10, a clockwise course record.
Together, those performances demonstrate competitive range across fixed-time racing, backyard ultras, and trail events from 100 to 250 miles, including both women’s victories and outright wins.
