The 100 Miler started at 12:01 AM AWST on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at North Bannister, and the finish at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre closes at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 8. The same weekend has 100 km, 50-mile, 50 km, 23 km and kids’ 5 km races. RaceResult shows live aid station splits, but the organizer says there is no GPS tracking. The final newsletter forecast a hot, dry weekend, with highs of 29°C (84°F) on Saturday and 27°C (81°F) on Sunday at Mundaring, and called the field the event’s biggest turnout ever. The homepage marked the 100 Miler sold out while its race page said limited entries were left; the second newsletter said a handful of 100-mile entries had reopened.

Course & Terrain
Point-to-point on the Bibbulmun Track from North Bannister north to the Perth Hills Discovery Centre at Mundaring (124.7 km), then a roughly 35 km (22 mi) out-and-back from the Discovery Centre via Camel Farm to Kalamunda and back to the finish.
Key course features to know before comparing this race:
- A midnight start at North Bannister and a night climb to the high ground of the range
- Mount Cooke, where 100-mile runners tear a page from a book of affirmations to show at the finish
- Mossy granite and open wandoo woodland at first light
- Rocky singletrack through jarrah and marri forest and dry creek beds
- The Feral Village at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre, passed at 124.7 km before the out-and-back to Kalamunda
Bibbulmun Track singletrack through jarrah, marri and wandoo forest, with granite, dry creek beds and rocky sections. The track is marked with the yellow Waugal; the organizer warns runners not to follow the blue Munda Biddi bike trail markers. Runners must carry the course GPX on the Gaia Maps app, or the paper Map 1 of the Bibbulmun Track (Kalamunda to North Bannister).
The organizer’s November averages are 9–27°C (48–81°F) at North Bannister and 13–26°C (55–79°F) at Mundaring, with about 19 mm and 23 mm (0.7 and 0.9 in) of rain. Its race-week forecast for 2026 gave about 10°C (50°F) at the midnight start, then 13–29°C (55–84°F), sunny and breezy, on Saturday and 13–27°C (55–81°F) on Sunday at Mundaring, and warned of a hot, dry weekend.
Entry & Logistics
| Registration and fees | Check the official event website for current availability, deadlines, prices, taxes, and refund terms. |
|---|---|
| Qualification | No qualifying race. Because hot weather is common in November, the organizer recommends training on rugged trails in hot conditions. Entries for 2026 opened at 6:00 AM AWST on November 7, 2025, and closed at 11:59 PM AWST on November 4, 2026. The 100 Miler cost A$519 (early bird), A$569 (second release) or A$619 (final release), with releases set by entry count (1–100, 101–200 and 201 and up), plus a booking fee. There are no refunds or rollovers. Runners can sell their entry through the organizer’s Facebook buy/sell group, for no more than they paid, until entries close; an injured runner who volunteers in a role picked by the organizer can roll the entry value over to the next year. |
| Support model | Eight manned aid stations on the 100-mile route: Sullivan Rock (41 km), Brookton Hwy (71.8 km), Mt Dale (84.2 km), Beraking (95.9 km), Allen Rd (108.7 km), the Perth Hills Discovery Centre (124.7 km), Camel Farm (134.8 and 149.9 km) and Kalamunda (142.3 km). They stock water, electrolytes, Coke, fruit, lollies and other food, plus sunscreen and bug spray. Runners must top up at least 500 ml at the manned Darkin Rd water stop (91.1 km) and fill to 2.5 L at the unmanned Canning water stop (63.5 km); Waalegh (104.4 km) is an optional unmanned stop. Runners must leave every aid station carrying their full mandatory water and must check out with the volunteers. The finish has free hot showers. |
| Crew / pacers | Crews may go only to approved locations: Sullivan Rock (100 Miler only), Brookton Hwy, Mt Dale, Camel Farm, Kalamunda (Jorgensen Park) and the Feral Village at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre. Canning, Darkin Rd, Beraking, Waalegh and Allen Rd lie in the protected Mundaring drinking water catchment: a crew that enters it gets its runner disqualified on the spot and risks heavy fines. Spectators may also watch at Mundaring Weir and the Mundaring Weir Hotel, but no aid is allowed there. Each 100-mile runner may have up to three pacers, who may change only at crewed aid stations, on three legs: Brookton Hwy to the Discovery Centre (71.8 to 124.7 km, 52.9 km), the Discovery Centre to Kalamunda (17.6 km) and Kalamunda to the finish (17.8 km). Pacers carry the mandatory gear except the map, may take water but not aid station food, and may not carry the runner’s mandatory gear. |
| Drop bags | Allowed at every aid station for ultra runners. After check-in, bags go into each aid station’s marquee, labeled with bib number, name and aid station. The organizer asks for small bags, lunchbox-sized, and no plastic zip-lock bags, which birds have learned to open. A finish clothes bag goes in the marked area at the finish. All bags can be collected at the Discovery Centre until 4:00 PM Sunday. |
| Logistics note | Check-in for the 100 Miler was 8:00–9:30 PM on Friday, November 6, at the Feral Village, Perth Hills Discovery Centre, 380 Allen Road, Mundaring, with a mandatory gear check and timing chip pickup. Early bib pickup and gear checks were 4:00–7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, at Tribe & Trail in Leederville. Every runner must take the bus to the start, which left at 9:35 PM, and the race briefing happens on the bus; drop-offs at the start are not accepted. Parking at the Discovery Centre is limited. Parking at the Kookaburra Cinema across Allen Road is off-limits from 4:00 PM to midnight on Friday and Saturday, on pain of disqualification and towing, and the Rose Garden car park, about 2 km away, is open only 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Camping, barbecues and hot showers are at the Discovery Centre, and The Taylors Kitchen sells food at the village. |
Why This Race Matters
Ultra Series Australia, which also runs Delirious WEST, holds the Feral Pig Ultra on the first weekend of November on the Bibbulmun Track in the Perth Hills. The Bibbulmun Track runs about 1,000 km (621 mi) from Kalamunda to Albany. The 100 Miler covers its northern end, from North Bannister to Mundaring, and then runs out to Kalamunda and back. The organizer’s results archive starts in 2016, when the longest race was 50 miles; the first 100-mile results are from 2017. The 2023 event was canceled because of bushfires and firefighting near the course, and the 2019 results file lists only 50 km and 23 km races. The 100 Miler is listed with ITRA and counts toward the UTMB Index in the 100M category. Michael Hooker holds the men’s record, 18:28:42 from 2020, and Jen Millum the women’s, 24:31:10 from 2018.
Historical benchmark notes in the directory record (verify current records with the linked official sources):
- Course record, men: Michael Hooker, 18:28:42, 2020.
- Course record, women: Jen Millum, 24:31:10, 2018.
- Michael Hooker also won in 2022 in 18:42:09, and Jen Millum won again in 2020 in 24:44:03.
- 2025 winners: Ethan Stirrat, 20:08:26, and Hester Naude, 27:34:00.
Preparing for a Race Like Feral Pig Ultra 100 Miler
The fixed-distance race guide covers the format as a whole. These guides go deeper:
- Walking strategy for ultramarathons: When and how to walk by terrain, effort and cutoffs.
- Crew and aid-station strategy: Crew tables, aid stops, drop bags and runner preferences.
- Hydration and sodium for ultramarathons: Fluid, sodium, thirst, sweat rate and hyponatremia risk.
- Tapering for ultramarathons: Plan the taper and race week around your own recovery.
Best Fit
- Runners who want a crewed, pacer-friendly 100-miler in the Perth Hills
- Runners comfortable starting a 100-miler in the dark at midnight
- Runners with experience on rugged trails in hot conditions
Planning Notes
- Train for terrain-specific fatigue. Technical trails and mountain courses demand downhill durability, hiking efficiency, and reliable night lighting.
- The directory does not mark this as having simpler logistics. Confirm qualification, terrain, support, registration, medical, and withdrawal requirements before planning around it.
- Heat: the organizer warns that hot days are common in November, and the 2026 forecast reached 29°C (84°F)
- No crew access for 40.5 km (25.2 mi) between Mt Dale and the Discovery Centre
- A 30.8 km (19.2 mi) stretch from Sullivan Rock to Brookton Hwy with only the unmanned Canning water stop
- Missing mandatory gear at a random check means disqualification
- The hi-vis vest goes over the pack from sunset to sunrise
Event FAQs
What time does the Feral Pig 100 Miler start?
12:01 AM AWST on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at North Bannister on the Bibbulmun Track. Runners checked in at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre from 8:00 to 9:30 PM on Friday and had to take the 9:35 PM bus to the start, with the race briefing on the way.
Where can I follow the Feral Pig Ultra live?
RaceResult’s live page shows each runner’s latest aid station split, position and estimated arrival at the next aid station, and finish times go to the RaceResult results page. The organizer says there is no GPS tracking: aid station volunteers record runners as they check out, so a runner’s position updates only at aid stations.
What is the cutoff for the Feral Pig 100 Miler?
40 hours: runners must reach the Perth Hills Discovery Centre by 4:00 PM on Sunday. Along the way they must leave Sullivan Rock by 8:00 AM, Brookton Hwy by 3:00 PM, Mt Dale by 6:00 PM and Beraking by 9:00 PM on Saturday, then Allen Rd by 1:30 AM, the Discovery Centre by 5:00 AM, Kalamunda by 10:30 AM and Camel Farm by 1:00 PM on Sunday.
How do you enter the Feral Pig Ultra, and is there a qualifier?
There is no qualifying race. Entries for 2026 opened at 6:00 AM AWST on November 7, 2025, and closed on November 4, 2026; the 100 Miler cost A$519 to A$619 plus a booking fee, with the four ultra distances capped at 350 runners in total. Refunds and rollovers are not offered, but entries can be sold at face value through the organizer’s Facebook buy/sell group. The organizer has not yet announced 2027 entry details.
