Edition notes: The 2027 race starts at noon Central on Friday, May 21, the date on BPN’s race page and its Race Roster listing. The lottery closed at 11:59 PM CDT on October 23, 2026, and BPN scheduled the selection announcement for October 28 on YouTube. Big’s race page and Yardlore still list Saturday, May 1, 2027 in Round Rock with 175 places, which does not match the organizer’s pages.

- 12:00 PM Central (CDT), Friday, May 21, 2027, according to the 2027 Race Roster listing. The 2026 race started at noon CDT on Friday, April 10.
- Duration / cutoff
- Each loop must be finished within the hour, and a runner who is not on the start line when the hour turns is out. There is no set distance and no finish line: the race ends when one runner remains. Lightning stopped the 2025 race with two runners left, and both were declared winners.
- Crew and pacers
- No pacers and no spectators. The 2027 Race Roster listing allows four crew members per runner.
