Crew and pacers
Crews may meet runners only at Big Mountain (mile 31.9), Lamb’s Canyon (47.5), Brighton (69.3) and the finish. Top of the Wall (mile 91.8) is a pacer exchange only, with no crewing. Parking at Big Mountain and Lamb’s is tight, so crews stage at Washington Park and receive one parking pass per runner. Big Mountain passes are issued about an hour before the runner’s predicted arrival, and Lamb’s passes once the runner leaves Alexander. Runners under 60 can pick up their first pacer at Big Mountain, and runners 60 and over may have one from the start. Pacers go one at a time and must be 18 or older, except that anyone, children included, may join from Top of the Wall to the finish. Pacers may not carry supplies for their runner, and car pacing is banned. Decker Canyon (mile 94.8) can serve only one pacer per runner.
Drop bags
Drop bags go to seven aid stations plus the finish: Bountiful B, Big Mountain, Lamb’s Canyon, Big Water, Brighton, Pole Line Pass and Little Deer Creek. Bags must be soft-sided, securely tied, clearly marked and fit in a 10 x 10 x 20 inch box. Hand them in by 4:00 PM at the Thursday check-in in Salt Lake City. Runners riding the bus can leave a bag at the start line, which travels to the finish. All bags are at Soldier Hollow by 5:00 PM Saturday.
