- Listed edition
- Aug 28, 2026 – Aug 30, 2026
- Format
- Fixed-Distance
- Distance
- 174 km
- Local start time
- 7:45 PM Friday (2026 weather-delayed start)
- Duration / cutoff
- 45 hours 30 minutes (modified 2026 race)
- Crew and pacers
- No pacers. Runners may be accompanied only in the marked spectator zones near aid stations, and company anywhere else costs 15 minutes per warning. One crew member per runner is allowed in the reserved crew area at Les Contamines (km 32.5), Courmayeur (km 83.3), Champex-Lac (km 130.5) and Vallorcine (km 158.5), according to the official 2026 course data. The crew member can hand over one bag of up to 30 liters and give small care, such as a massage or blister treatment, while the runner sits. Medical help from crews is forbidden, and crewing outside the authorized zones costs one hour. Private cars cannot reach Les Contamines, Saint-Gervais, Courmayeur, La Fouly, Champex, the Col de la Forclaz, Trient or Vallorcine. Crews ride the organizer’s shuttles instead, and Vallorcine is also reachable by train. In 2026 the UTMB shuttle passes cost €26 (France), €31 (Italy) or €36 (Switzerland) for one adult and were sold June 9 to July 12, with no on-site sales.
- Drop bags
- In 2026 UTMB allowed two drop bags for the first time, at the Courmayeur Sport Center (km 83.3) and Champex-Lac (km 130.5), according to the official course data and U-Trail. Before 2026, runners had a single bag at Courmayeur. Runners receive a 30-liter bag at race-pack pickup, and poles may not go in a drop bag. Bags come back to the finish area and must be collected within two hours of the end of the race, by the runner or by someone showing the runner’s bib. After that they must be picked up in person at UTMB headquarters, 31 Rue du Lyret in Chamonix.
