Edition notes: The 2026 edition is sold out. The current runner guide describes the advertised 110 km category as approximately 113 km with 7,765 m of climbing, but its cutoff table ends at 117.5 km. Confirm the final GPX and briefing rather than assuming those distance figures are interchangeable.

Crew and pacers

None. The race rules ban crewing of any kind and any unofficial runner, including pacers, and runners are held responsible for anything their supporters do. Stashing supplies along the trail is also banned, and dogs may not accompany runners. Ultra X welcomes family and friends at the Machico finish, and a supporter who wants to be closer to the action can apply to volunteer.

Drop bags

Two-stage runners pack one waterproof camp bag of under 10 kg, which the organizer carries from Machico to the São Vicente camp for Saturday night and then to the Machico finish, where bags can be collected from Sunday morning. There is no other drop bag on the two-stage race. Single-stage 110 km runners get one bag at CP6 in São Vicente, about 63 km in. The bag drop at Forum Machico opens at 4:30 AM on race morning, and in 2025 holdalls over 10 kg or with items strapped to the outside were not carried.
