Plan Mountain Masochist Trail Run 50 Miler
Use the listed edition as your starting point. Each tool keeps imported race facts separate from the targets and assumptions you choose.
Edition notes: UltraSignup shows registration closed November 4 at 11:59 PM Eastern, with 142 names on the 50-mile entrant list on November 5. The organizer’s aid-station sheet, updated October 20, 2026, measures the course at 51.2 miles. The race site and UltraSignup both mention “course changes this year,” but that sentence was already on the site in September 2023, so no source shows a route change made specifically for 2026.

- Crew access is limited. The 2026 sheet allows crews at Salt Log Gap, the Loop and Long Mountain, marks the Cabin as reachable on foot only, and bars crews from Forest Gate and Reservoir. Salt Log Gap and the Loop are flagged as heavily congested, and crews are told not to block traffic. Pacers are discouraged in the 50-miler and allowed only for a special need the race director accepts. Anyone aiming for the top ten, men or women, may not use one.
- Drop bags
- Drop bags are available in the 50-miler and 100K. Hand yours in at the start line on race morning, where it goes on a trailer or truck to Long Mountain Wayside. You pass it twice, at miles 20.8 and 27.6, and it then travels to the finish. The organizer says not to bring a suitcase, and left-behind items are generally not mailed.
Recorded facts reviewed Nov 5, 2026. Check the organizer’s latest rules. Calendar downloads use all-day dates and do not set a starting alarm.
