Plan Leadville Trail 100 Run
Use the listed edition as your starting point. Each tool keeps imported race facts separate from the targets and assumptions you choose.
This is a past edition. These details are for reference; confirm a future edition before making a plan.
Edition notes: The 2026 Willow Fire reroute avoided Sugarloaf and Powerline. The organizer’s edition-specific course section lists 99.7 miles and 13,357 ft of climbing, although an older general section still shows 15,492 ft. The 2027 course was not yet announced on October 23, 2026.

- Crew and pacers
- Crews may meet runners only at three points, each passed twice: Outward Bound, the Pipeline crew area (miles 29.6 and 74.9 in 2026, about two miles from Half Pipe, with no aid) and Twin Lakes Village. Crewing anywhere else risks disqualification. Twin Lakes requires crew wristbands and has no crew parking, so crews ride a shuttle from Outward Bound that runs 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Reserved 10 x 10 ft crew spaces there are assigned by drawing. Pacers may start at the inbound Twin Lakes station and join anywhere after it. Each runner gets two pacer bibs and may use any number of pacers, one at a time until mile 99. Muling is allowed: pacers may carry food and gear but may never push, pull, carry or tow the runner.
- Drop bags
- In 2026 drop bags went to five stations: Turquoise Lake Dam, Outward Bound, Half Pipe, Twin Lakes and Winfield. Hand them in on Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 316 Harrison Avenue in clear plastic bags marked with bib number, name and aid station, with liquids in leak-proof, unbreakable containers. Bags come back on Sunday, roughly 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the same address. Bags left after 5:00 PM go to charity and are not mailed. The organizer’s packing guide suggests a hooded windbreaker, hat and gloves at Twin Lakes before the first Hope Pass crossing, and a headlamp and spare light at Winfield, packed for your slowest likely finish.
