Plan Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB

Use the listed edition as your starting point. Each tool keeps imported race facts separate from the targets and assumptions you choose.

This is a past edition. These details are for reference; confirm a future edition before making a plan.

Listed edition
Jul 18, 2026 – Jul 19, 2026
Format
Fixed-Distance
Distance
101 km
Local start time
4:00 AM Saturday
Duration / cutoff
25 hours (finish closes 5:00 AM Sunday), with 13 time barriers on the course
Crew and pacers
Pacers are not allowed. The 2026 race page listed supporter zones at Grosse Scheidegg, Bort, First, Wengen, Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg, Brandegg and Pfingstegg, and the 2026 briefing added a support zone at Schynige Platte; the 2027 race page also lists Burglauenen. The regulations allow one assistant per runner in the reserved area of an aid station, who may hand over a bag of up to 30 liters and give small care, such as a massage or blister treatment, while the runner sits; medical help from crews is forbidden. Being accompanied outside the marked zones near aid stations costs 15 minutes, and assistance outside the authorized zones costs one hour. Supporters reach most zones by cable car, train or bus, and Burglauenen has no parking, so the organizer tells them to take the train. A race-day Supporter Ticket (CHF 99 for adults in 2026) covers the lifts and trains around the course, including extra runs: the Firstbahn from 4:45 AM, the Männlichen gondola from Grindelwald and the Wengen–Männlichen cable car until 9:00 PM, special trains from Kleine Scheidegg at 10:00 PM and Brandegg at 10:20 PM, and a special Pfingstegg cable car at 10:30 PM up and 10:45 PM down.
Drop bags
E101 runners get one organizer drop bag at bib pickup (35 liters, according to the bib-distribution page). In 2026 it was handed in next to the start gate between 3:00 and 3:45 AM on race morning, per the briefing, and taken to Burglauenen (km 55.3), roughly halfway, before being returned to the finish area. Bags were ready from Saturday afternoon in the lower level of the Grindelwald sports center and had to be collected by 10:00 AM Sunday, only on presentation of the bib. Poles are not allowed in drop bags, and only the official UTMB World Series bags are transported. Free baggage storage at the sports center was open from 3:30 AM Saturday to 10:00 AM Sunday.
