7:00 AM Monday, January 25, 2027, at Kerry Park Arena (UltraSignup). In 2026 the official results show bikes starting at 7:00 AM, skiers at 7:02 AM and foot racers at 7:04 AM.

Duration / cutoff

60 hours: the finish at Fortune Bay closes at 7:00 PM Wednesday. Racers must leave Gateway (mile 35) by 9:00 PM Monday, MelGeorge's (mile 70) by 1:00 PM Tuesday and the Embark checkpoint (about mile 110) by 10:00 AM Wednesday. A missed cutoff ends the race, and anyone who keeps going after missing one is banned from future Arrowheads.

Crew and pacers

No crews, pacers or outside help of any kind, including at MelGeorge's. Spectators are welcome but may not assist, and no snowmobiles may follow, meet or break trail for a racer. Racers may help each other. Taking a ride or getting into a warm vehicle means disqualification. Unsupported racers check in at checkpoints but take no food, water or warming time there.

Drop bags

One see-through drop bag of up to 10 lb for MelGeorge's, holding food and drink only. New for 2027, it is inspected at gear check. It is stored on an unheated porch and is not returned. A separate small bag with a change of disposable clothes goes to the Fortune Bay finish. Both are due at gear check by 2:30 PM Sunday.
